Lp And Company:
LP AND COMPANY

L.P. began playing the trumpet at age 10 and was on stage in his first group at age 14. This group, The Echoes of Soul, was the first of many groups of which L.P. was a member. After touring the country in the late 1970’s with show bands that included The George Joseph Foundation and The Sunny Days Review, L.P. formed the group L.P. and Company in 1980 with musician friends in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Through the years, L.P. has been influenced by such groups as Chicago, The Eagles, and Three Dog Night. Other favorite entertainers include Neil Diamond, Lionel Ritchie, and Kenny Rogers. L.P. also is a fan of the Nashville sound of such singers as Garth Brooks, George Strait, and Tim McGraw and groups like Restless Heart and Diamond Rio.

“I had a pretty normal childhood, the oldest of five siblings. With my parents and four sisters, we had a great time together and are still very close. My parents love country music, and my mother always had the radio going when I was growing up. My Dad actually suggested that I learn to play the trumpet because he liked the Big Band Sound of Harry James.”

L.P. also loves singing and the sound of tight harmonies. The Motown Sound of such groups as the Temptations and the Four Tops were favorites as well as Earth, Wind and Fire and Darrell Hall and John Oates.

Julianne Smith Kiedinger

Julianne grew up in York County, Virginia and got an early start in music. After graduation from high school, she performed in the country show at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia and toured with the U.S.O. She met and began singing with L.P. at the age of 16, and was soon a member of L.P. and Company. In 1986, Julianne and L.P. performed on the television show “You Can Be a Star” in Nashville, Tennessee. That same summer Julianne competed and won the title of Miss Virginia, and was first runner-up in the Miss America Pageant. In addition to singing, Julianne is the television spokesperson in commercials for many businesses.

Julianne enjoys a wide range of music including “old standards” from such artist as Etta James, to the country sounds of Gretchen Wilson and Faith Hill, and the current popular music of Celine Dion and others. She has recorded several CDs and toured nationally and worldwide as a singer and dancer.

Bill Davis
Guitars and Lead Vocals

Originally from Mathews, Virginia, Bill began playing guitar at a young age. After stints in several bands, Bill and L.P. met in 1974 and were original members of the group “Just Us”. Bill has a great voice and loves singing music that is great to dance to. Some of Bill’s favorite groups include Earth, Wind and Fire, Chicago, and other groups with horns.

Mosley Wellington
Bass and Vocals

Mosley is one of the founding members of L.P. and Company. As the bass player, he is the foundation of the group and knows how to keep people dancing. Mosley is known to be one of best bass players to come out of the Virginia area. His knowledge of music over the years is unsurpassed in the group. He knows just about every song from every major group over the years and is very influential in the choice of music for the group.

John Mason
Keyboards and Vocals

Originally from New York City, John now resides in Williamsburg, Virginia. In addition to keyboards and vocals, John is the musical arranger for the group. John got his musical start at an early age, and was the New York State Champion on the accordion. He is an accomplished musician and has performed with many groups over the years. His musical tastes include jazz, big band, and swing. John’s versatility enables the group to play a broad variety of music.

Brian MacDonald
Saxophones, Flute, Keyboards and Lead Vocals

Brian is a very versatile musician and arranges all the horns parts for the group. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Brian has played in many bands in Virginia since 1970 including Gashouse Gang, Slapwater, Undercover and Off the Record. Brian has been influenced by players and performers such as David Sanborn, Michael Brecker, Tom Scott, Ian Anderson, Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble’.

“I’m from a musical family. My mother majored in music and plays piano. Both of my parents sing in the church choir, my brother plays trumpet, and my sister sang in the high school glee club. Once I joined a band in college, rock and roll was in my blood.”

Glen Barnes
Drums and Vocals

Glen is from Portsmouth, Virginia, the hometown of many big-time musicians. Glen “lays down the beat” that makes people dance. He enjoys watching folks on the dance floor having a good time. His musical tastes include Rock and Roll and all types of party music.

Steve Moore
Sound and Lighting

Steve makes everyone sound and look their best. He is essentially the band “stage manager”. It is his responsibility to make sure that everything goes as planned at an event. He is great with people and loves to see a happy customer.
