Billy Scott And The Party Prophets:

BILLY SCOTT AND THE PARTY PROPHETS

Billy Scott & The Party Prophets are well known for such beach music classics as "I Got The Fever", "California", "Beach Trip", "Roll Around Rockin'", "Rockin' Good Way", and the smash #1 hit song for 20 weeks on The Rhythm 'N Beach Top 40 Chart, "My Kind Of Girl", to name a few.

Billy Scott & The Party Prophets have been a main staple on the southeastern private party, festival, concert, corporate functions, night club and wedding circuit for over thirty years. In 1997 they opened for The Temptations at Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte, NC to a sold out crowd of 17,000. This award winning 7-piece dance and show group plays a wide variety of music including beach, blues, Motown, retro, funk and oldies, and are in constant demand.

Billy Scott has been inducted in the Beach Music Hall Of Fame, The North Carolina Music Hall Of Fame, and has a room full of Cammy Awards to his credit. Billy Scott was awarded with three more Cammy Awards on November 11, 2001 at the Alabama Theater in Myrtle Beach, SC. Billy's hit song "My Kind Of Girl" won Song Of The Year, Ballad of the Year, and Billy Scott also took home the 2001 Male Vocalist Of The Year award.

Female vocalist Cindy Floyd was nominated two years in a row for best female vocalist at the 1998 and 1999 Cammy Awards. A duet with Billy on a song titled "Rockin' Good Way", from their "Ready to Party" CD, also garnered a nomination in 1999.

Their "Ready To Party" CD, nominated for three 1999 Cammy Awards, landed at number six on the Rhythm 'N Beach Top 20 CD's Chart for 1999. In 2001 Billy Scott & The Party Prophets released a new CD titled "Looking Back", a retrospect of their best songs from 1968 through 2000.

In the spring of 2003, Billy Scott received the Artist of the Decade Award from The Rhythm 'N Beach Top 40 Award Show. Billy's song "My Kind Of Girl" was also named the #2 Song of the Decade second only to The Bee Gees.

In September 2003, Billy Scott & The Party Prophets released a new CD consisting of all original music composed by the group and a few outside writers. The CD titled "Singers & Songwriters", features lead vocals on songs by all the band members including Billy Scott's duet with the legendary Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, Bill Pinkney of The Original Drifters.

In January 2004, the group released their first live DVD entitled "Billy Scott & The Party Prophets 'A Soul Performance' Live At The Newberry Opera House". The DVD is a two-disc set packed with two hours of the favorite songs by Billy Scott & The Party Prophets and also includes extra backstage footage.

In December 2005, Billy Scott & The Party Prophets played a 90 minute opening set in Charlotte, NC for the world renowned, Grammy award winning, Commodores.

Billy Scott & The Party Prophets were filmed by SCETV (South Carolina Educational Television) which aired on ETV, Sunday, Jan 8, 2006. The two hour concert was filmed live in Sumter, SC for the Sumter at Six Summer Concert Series.
